News item: This company is building AI for African languages
Het bedrijf Lelapa AI tackelt de achterstand van Afrikaanse talen in AI met een innovatief model. Terwijl slechts 5% van de wereldbevolking Engels als moedertaal heeft, domineert deze taal het internet en nu ook AI-modellen. Ondanks duizenden talen in Afrika kunnen huidige modellen daar niet accuraat in communiceren. Met het nieuwe model genaamd Vulavula, biedt Lelapa AI een oplossing. Dit model kan geïntegreerd worden in bestaande AI-modellen of zelfstandig ingezet worden. Een mooie stap richting inclusievere AI.(MIT Technology Review, 2023-11-30)
